In the Heritage Wing, Yoshio Taniguchi recreated the 1962 lobby designed under his father, Yoshiro Taniguchi. The hotel was rebuilt in 2019 and is Japanese-operated.

Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune renovated the former Daiichi Bank annex in Kabutocho, the old financial district. Its independent food and drink includes a coffee roaster and a beer hall.

Norm Architects worked with Keiji Ashizawa Design on the 25 rooms. The hotel is Japanese-operated and independent of the chains.

The architects behind HAGISO run it. Guests bathe at the local sento, eat in the neighbourhood and borrow bicycles to get around.

Kiyoaki Takeda Architects designed the building, which opened in September 2025. The bakery and the bar take the street level.

Mount Fuji Architects Studio is credited with the building, three minutes from Ikebukuro Station. Three separate design teams did the interiors of its 41 rooms.
