How a hotel is chosen

The editors choose from the published record: awards, guides, press and the hotel's own published information. A hotel cannot apply or pay for a place.

What a listed hotel gets

• A ranked place in its city's edition and a page of its own.
• A Book direct link to the hotel's own website, and a map link. We take no commission and use no affiliate links.
• A short announcement to share, in English, and in Japanese for hotels in Japan.
• A line in the letter when it joins a list.

Hosted stays

We ask for one hosted night, room only or with breakfast, on a date that suits the hotel. Every hosted night is labelled on the hotel's page, with the dates. A hosted night does not guarantee a place or coverage. We decline offers with conditions.

Offering a stay

Write to editor@savedspaces.com with the room type and the dates on offer. We reply within two working days and confirm any stay in writing.

What we never ask for

• Payment of any kind.
• Coverage, posts or tags in exchange for a stay.
• Copy approval. We check facts with you before publishing and do not share verdicts in advance.
• Rights to your photography.

Corrections

If a fact on your page is wrong, write with the correction and a source. We fix it.

Disclosure

Japan's stealth-marketing rules, in force since October 2023, make the advertiser liable for undisclosed promotion. Every hosted night here is labelled on the hotel's page.
